Finnish police investigates kidnapping case

HELSINKI. June 15. KAZINFORM. Finnish police is investigating the kidnapping case of 26 year-old Helsinki girl, the daughter of Hanna Nurminen, who is one of the richest women of Finland, Finnish media reported Sunday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

The case is the first of its kind in Finland. The kidnapper entered the victim's home in a district of Helsinki and abducted her on May 27. The victim's mother, Hanna Nurminen, is the Chair of the Kone Foundation of Finland and a member of the Herlin, one of the wealthiest families in Finland. She was found unharmed in south west Finland late Friday after a ransom of ten million euros was paid for her release. Finnish police said a middle-aged man from Turku, southwest of Finland, is currently being held in custody. The motive was clearly money, said chief inspector Kari Tolvanen from the National Bureau of Investigation. The man had no earlier connection with the victim.
