Finland shares experience in social policy implementation, gender equality with Kazakhstan
ASTANA. October 8. KAZINFORM Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdikalykova visited Finland on October 3-4, Kazinform refers to Kazakh MFA's press service.
The visit was held within the framework of implementation of the agreements reached during state visit of Sauli Niinistö, President of Finland, to Kazakhstan on April 17-18, 2013.
The official part of Gulshara Abdikalykova's visit included talks at the Ministries of Education and Culture, Health and Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, as well as the Parliament of Finland, Council for Gender Equality. As a mark of respect to Kazakhstan, Mrs. Jenni Haukio, the spouse of the President of Finland, received the Chairperson of the Commission Gulshara Abdikalykova.
As a separate part of the visit the Chairperson met with the Ombudsman for Equality and visited Office of the Coalition of Finnish Women's Associations.
Kazakhstan's delegation was briefed on achievements of the Finnish healthcare and social security system at the National Institute for Health and Welfare.
They were also informed with key aspects of social policy implementation, gender equality and legislative basis, as well as practical aspects of the family and demographic policy implementation in Finland.
Gulshara Abdikalykova briefed her finnish colleagues on core features of Kazakhstan's social policy within the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy. She also informed about promotion of the gender equality and career opportunities for women in Kazakhstan.
