Financing of agriculture to be protected from sequestering: Kazakh PM

ASTANA. January 14. KAZINFORM /Zauresh Balkenova/ ?Despite possible reconsideration of budget forecasts due to the reduction of oil and metals prices, financing of agriculture shouldn?t undergo sequestering?, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has said today at the enlarged session of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kazinform reports.
The Premier paid attention to the fact that 47% of population live in the rural areas, emphasizing the special importance of agro-projects financing.
?Last year our main task was prevention of unfounded prices rise. I think, the Ministry of Agriculture and ?KazAgro? Holding dealt successfully with this task?, R.Massimov said.
?The problem of 2009 is not inflation, but most probably deflation?, the Premier said.
According to him, in the nearest two years we can face reduction of prices and the task will be to support our agricultural producers in order to prevent their collapse.
The Head of the Government also stressed the necessity of abidance of world standards in the production of national agricultural products.
