Financing of 93 scientific projects stopped in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. August 22. KAZINFORM Upon the results of the examination held by the National Research Council funding for 93 research projects has been suspended, Vice Minister of Education and Science Murat Orunkhanov said during the enlarged board meeting, Kazinform has learnt from primeminister.kz.
"As a result of the examination it is first time there was conducted a reporting session on the results of the scientific year. We can say that 60 projects from 29 scientific organizations have been approved, and 93 projects have not been approved. Financing of these projects has been stopped," he said.
According to the Deputy Minister, experts had a lot of comments upon these 93 projects - lack of novelty, non-conformity to the purposes and objectives of the study, the lack of publications.
"A detailed qualitative examination of international projects has been conducted across the country. About 3 thousand experts, 59% of which are foreign, have been involved. Today we can say that we have created an objective and independent examination," Orunkhanov concluded.
