Final stage of Tour de France accomplished in Paris
PARIS-BRUSSELS. July 28. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ The final stage of Tour de France bicycle race was accomplished Sunday in Paris. The Kazakh team "Astana" and its leader Alberto Kontador won the race, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Embassy in Paris.
Over 300 thousand people attended the official awarding ceremony of "Astana" team, where Mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoe, French Sports Minister Rama Yade, Health Minister Rozelin Bachelet, members of the Senate and the French National Assembly and heads of the Kazakh Delegation took part as well.
Kazakh Ambassador to France N.Danenov read a letter of congratulation of the Kazakh President, where he appreciated the sport achievements of "Astana" team that became possible due to professional, well coordinated teamwork of all members of the team.
According to sport commentators, the victory of "Astana" team will go down in history of the world sport.
