Final results of Kazakh Census 2009 summarized
ASTANA. April 2. KAZINFORM The work on summarizing the Census 2009 results has been completed. Chairman of the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov announced during the Governmental Hour in the Majilis on Monday.
"The work on the preparation and publication of the materials on the results of Census 2009 has been finished. 96 regional compilations were released in 3 volumes in 2 languages. They contain data describing the population of 14 regions and cities of Astana and Almaty," said Smailov.
Chairman of the Agency stated that with technical assistance from the UN Population Fund in Kazakhstan (UNFPA) there was prepared the analytical report "Results of the National Census of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2009." Based on comments and suggestions received during the discussions of the report with members of Parliament, representatives of government agencies and NGOs, the report was finalized and published in 2 languages, as well as posted on the website of the Statistics Agency in 3 languages.
