Fifth Central Asian Internet Development Forum to kick of Apr 29

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The Fifth Central Asian Internet Development Forum will take place on April 29-30 in Almaty. It is organized by the OSCE Centre in Astana, MediaNet International Centre of Journalism, Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

This forum will bring together government representatives, members of parliament, online activists, journalists, lawyers, and representatives of NGOs, academia and business, as well as international Internet experts from Ukraine, Lithuania, Russia and Central Asia. The fifth Central Asian Internet Development Forum will provide a platform to discuss regional Internet-related issues. The event aims to increase dialogue in the Internet sphere in Central Asia, to identify potential threats to the free flow of information on the Internet and to find solutions to them, to discuss obstacles to the full development of the Internet in Central Asia and measures to prevent the abuse of freedom of speech on the Internet, the OSCE Centre in Astana said.
