"He reads and writes a lot and I could say that for his age, he's doing very well," Raul said while visiting eastern Cuba, hit by a 5.6-magnitude quake last Saturday.

"He does exercises every day and he is more disciplined than ever: now he eats his meals at more reasonable hours, goes to bed very early and doesn't work until seven or eight in the morning like he used to," he said.

Castro has rarely been seen in public since he ceded power to his younger brother, Raul, who officially became president in February 2008, Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.tian.ru for full version.
