"We will hold a protest against gasoline price hikes by riding on streets adjacent to the Kremlin and on embankments from 6 p.m. on June 16," Kanayev said.

According to RIA Novosti, the protesters will honk the horns of their vehicles from time to time to express their attitude.

The FAR said, however, that the event participants do not intend to block traffic or hinder traffic movement around the Kremlin.

A police source told RIA Novosti that traffic police officers will not allow any unauthorized protests by motorists.

Earlier the statistics service said gasoline prices grew 0.7% from May 31 to June 6.
