EXPO-2017 volunteer school opens in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A special school that will train volunteers for the upcoming EXPO-2017 event has been opened in Astana.

The school was launched on the basis of the Astana youth resource center, according to head of the Youth Policy Department of Astana city Talgat Rakhmanberdi. "The volunteer school was launched as a pilot project at the center in October. It is called Team-2017. At the school, students will study experience of the volunteers who participated in large international projects and volunteer movement in general. We plan to train at least 300 people at the school this year," Mr. Rakhmanberdi said. In his words, the volunteers will brush up on their English, learn more about Kazakhstan and Astana's history and national traditions and go through basic psychological training. Mr. Rakhamberdi also added that the youth resource center was unveiled in February 2014.
