EXPO-2017 to be universal, important and exciting event - Zhoshybayev

According to Zhoshybayev, Kazakhstan will live up to reputation and comply all obligations undertaken during the application procedure.

"EXPO-2017 is a national project which will fuel the economic diversification and modernization of our country and, of course, Kazakhstan will benefit in social economic perspective due to a transition to '"green" economy," the Deputy Minister said.

The Commissioner noted that State Commission was established in December 2012 to coordinate the activities of the government. In January 2013 National Company "Astana EXPO-2017" owned by the Government was set up. The Commissioner of "EXPO-2017" was appointed by the Presidential Decree.

In addition, Rapil Zhoshybayev said that EXPO project had a national meaning, it receives support from the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is coordinating the preparations for "EXPO-2017". The meetings of the State Commission endowed with the coordination of all functions related to the "EXPO" activities in government and public bodies are held on a regular basis.

"I would like to emphasize our commitment that "EXPO" will become a universal, important and exciting event for all participants. At each stage of the preparation process, we will provide an appropriate level of cooperation and dialogue with all parties," R. Zhoshybayev said addressing the audience at the 153rd session of the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau.
