Eximbank to offer US$1 bln for Uzbek gas project

SEOUL. March 26. KAZINFORM The state-run Export-Import Bank of Korea (Eximbank) said Monday it will provide a US$1 billion loan to help finance the exploration of a gas field and the construction of a chemicals plant in Uzbekistan.
The move comes after a group of South Korean companies clinched a $4 billion deal with the Uzbek state-controlled oil and gas corporation National Holding Company Uzbekneftegaz to produce natural gas and chemical products in Surgil near the Aral Sea, Yonhap News Agency reports.
