Ex-Chairman of Auyl Party Gani Kaliyev passed away
Ex- Chairman of Auyl Social-Democratic Party Gani Kaliyev passed away on March 12, at the age of 86, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the party’s press service.
Gani Kaliyev was one of the founders of Auyl Party.
Born on July 19, 1932 in Belbassar village of Zhambyl region, he graduated from the Kyrgyz State University with a major in Agricultural Economics.
He began his career as a chief economist in Maitobe Sovkhoz of Talas district of Zhambyl region.
In 1984-1988, he was the director of the Kazakh Scientific Research Technological Institute of Sheep Breeding. In 1988-1999 he helmed the Kazakh Research Institute of Economics and Agro-Industrial Complex Organization. He also was the first President of the Kazakh Academy of Agricultural Sciences (1991-1996), President of KazAgro National Federation of Farmers. In 1990-1993, he was a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, and in 1999-2004, he held a deputy seat in the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament.From January 2000 to August 2015, he was the Chairman of Auyl Party.
