Every second university to teach AI in Kazakhstan by 2029
Kazakhstan is developing a program aimed at widespread promotion of artificial intelligence in different spheres of life of citizens, the country’s digital development, innovation and aerospace industry minister Zhaslan Madiyev said, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to the minister, the Alem.AI national center based at the Nur Alem Museum in Astana will be a platform for cooperation on AI between the state, science, business and international partners.
Programming schools with a peer-to-peer methodology based on practical learning through implementing projects without involvement of teachers are set to be launched across the country. This will promote cooperation between students and research approach, said Madiyev.
Besides, cooperation with international companies and institutions, including Berkeley, aimed at creating research centers in the country will allow AI scholars to cooperate with leading partners.
In general, a program aimed at widespread promotion of artificial intelligence in different spheres of life of citizens is being developed. There are plans to train 10 thousand talents, one thousand AI specialists, 100 AI startups and 10 research projects. The target indicator will be an increase in the share of universities to teach AI from 20% in 2025 to 60% in 2029, said the Kazakh minister.
