Evacuation orders issued as rain continues to lash southwestern Japan

KAGOSHIMA. KAZINFORM Evacuation orders were issued Wednesday to all households in the cities of Kagoshima, Kirishima and Aira -- about 728,000 people in total -- as heavy rains continued to lash the Kyushu region in southwestern Japan.
Local authorities and Japan's weather agency are urging residents to be on high alert for flooding and possible landslides, Kyodo reports.
