European Union positively assesses West Europe - West China road's construction
BRUSSELS. June 28. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ The European Union positively assesses the ongoing process of construction of "West Europe - West China" International Transit Corridor. Vice President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Transport Siim Kallas made it public at a meeting with Kazakh Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, EU and NATO Yerik Utembayev held in Brussels.
The European politician emphasized the importance of further deepening and development of transport cooperation with Kazakhstan for the European Union, complimenting the existing potential of our country in diversification of transport corridors.
The President of Kazakhstan in his recent Address to the Nation defined the stable economic growth of the country under the forced industrialization and infrastructure development as one of the main goals for the decade. Highways development takes an important place in the process of industrialization.
"West Europe - West China" project will allow to realize both the transit and export potentials of Kazakhstan. Its length at the territory of Kazakhstan is 2787 km.
