Eurasian Higher Education Leaders' Forum starts in Astana
ASTANA. June 12. KAZINFORM The second Eurasian Higher Education Leaders' Forum has started today at Nazarbayev University.
According to the press service of the university, this year leaders and top managers in the sphere of higher education, scientists, representative of the Government and politicians from 30 countries have gathered to discuss global trends in the higher education and its impact on the region.
Deputy Prime Minister Yerbol Orynbayev, Minister of Education and Science Bakytzhan Zhumagulov and President of Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu took part in the forum's opening ceremony.
The agenda includes issues of leadership, management, and universities responsibility, global trends of education and etc.
The special event of the forum will be a special session titled "Overview of Kazakhstan's education system", including a report of the international research group on the educational reform in Kazakhstan. There will be discussion of the challenges of reforming the education system in Kazakhstan.
By the way, Tom Boland, the Chief Executive of the Higher Education Authority of Ireland, Dr. Richard K. Miller, who has won five teaching awards at two universities, received the Legacy award from the College of Engineering at the University of Iowa, and was recognized in 2006 by the Mass High Tech journal as an All Star for his work in leading the establishment of Olin College, is a member of the Board of Directors of Stanley Consultants, Inc., and serves on the Board of Trustees of Babson and Olin Colleges, are among the forum's speakers.
