Asked about the progress in negotiations with the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund regarding the allocation of another tranche in the stabilization loan and when Belarus may expect to get it, the Finance Minister remarked: "I wouldn't like to get ahead of myself, moreover, the comments preceding the previous tranche indicated that Belarus had failed to meet a lot of conditions. Nevertheless, things turned out to be totally different from what some commentators imagined. In the near future Anticrisis Fund experts will arrive in Minsk. We will start working with them on this matter. A session of the Anticrisis Fund Board is scheduled for 5 December. The session is supposed to evaluate actions of the government and the National Bank in order to make the decision", BelTA reports.

"All in all, I am a pragmatic person. I believe that if we have to answer some questions and someone doubts some things, we should demonstrate the real situation or explain what things need correcting. The key goal of our joint program is ensuring the macroeconomic balance. We will steer for that. So far I haven't seen any reasons for the fund to believe our work has not been successful," said Andrei Kharkovets.

Apart from that, the Finance Minister said that the Belarusian side was ready to resume negotiations on a new program of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund. "In principle, we are ready to resume the talks and expect an answer from our partners," he remarked.

Andrei Kharkovets did not specify any concrete sum but explained that the sum is determined by the length of the program and depends on the "interruption in the financial account" that may emerge as the program is implemented.

On the other hand, the availability of a program for cooperation with the IMF indicates that the economic policy of the government is supported by international financial institutions. It is a positive signal for outside investors and enables Belarus to indirectly influence foreign markets, remarked the Finance Minister. "At last it is a way to pursue a more balanced macroeconomic policy that allows measuring the government work against international approaches," said Andrei Kharkovets.
