EU "trio" to visit Georgia

TBILISI. July 16. KAZINFORM The European Union (EU) "trio" is visiting the South Caucasus on July 16. The visit is to begin with arrival of Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, who is chairing at EU, in the accompany of his party to Batumi on July 16; Kazinform refers to Trend News.

Buildt will be accompanied by representatives of the European commission Karel Kovanda and John Kjayer, the EU special envoy to the South Caucasus Peter Semneby and representative of secretariat of EU Council Paolo Barroso Simos. The Spainish ambassador at large missions to the Central Asia Santiago Chamorro will represent the country, who will take the presidency at the EU for next term.

However, an official part of the visit will be launch in Tbilisi on July 17 with official meetings of EU "trio" with the Georgian senior officials. The representatives will also hold meetings with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.

Extension of the credentials of the EU mission will be discussed in Georgia.
