EU hopes for further cooperation with new Kazakh Government
BRUSSELS. September 25. KAZINFORM "The European Union hopes to continue cooperation with the new Kazakh Government in order to promote a dialogue and partnership in the key areas and expects new Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov to continue the necessary reforms," Maya Kosyanchich, a spokesman for EU Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton, told Kazinform correspondent in response to comment on the change of the Kazakh Head of Government.
"We expect that the Kazakh Government with the new Prime Minister in charge will continue necessary reforms. The EU will further its cooperatation with Kazakhstan. Over recent years, the EU is working constructively with the Government of Kazakhstan. The EU looks forward to wider cooperation with the future Government of Kazakhstan in order to advance our dialogue and partnership in key areas such as economic exchange, human rights and security in the region as a whole. In particular, negotiations on a new enhanced agreement on partnership and cooperation should be continued," M. Kosyanchich told.
