EU archives go digital in 2014

ROME. May 29. KAZINFORM The Historical Archives of the European Union, managed by European University Institute and conserved in Florence at Villa Salviati, will be digitalized and accessible to the public online by 2014.

While the fifteenth-century villa is currently under restoration, there is a reference room open to those interested in accessing the archival documents conserved there (upon registration). The archives contain some 170,000 documents relating to EU institutions and a unique collection of 150 private archives of eminent pro-European associations and personalities.
