Establishment of Kazakh-Turkish industrial zones to contribute a lot to Kazakh economy development

TANA. October 22. KAZINFORM Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Bekir Bozdag paid a working visit to Kazakhstan on October 20-21. As reported earlier, as a result of terrorist attacks in Turkey, a planned visit by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kazakhstan has been postponed to a later date.

Mr. Bekir Bozdag attended the First Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic speaking states in Astana.

Then, he met with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev. The sides discussed the matters of trade-economic cooperation. Following the talks the sides signed a memorandum of intentions to establish Kazakh-Turkish industrial zones on the territory of Kazakhstan. Turkey has extensive experience in their establishment and operation. Presently, more than 50 thousand enterprises operate in Turkey. Formation of such zones in Kazakhstan will contribute a lot to the development of national industry and state support for small and medium businesses. The emergence of new companies with Turkish capital is intended to provide additional jobs, increase domestic production and attract foreign investors.

During the visit, the Turkish delegation participated in the opening ceremony of the Kazakh-Turkish lyceum in Talgar, where Turkey invested about USD 7 million, and the Turkish private hospital complex "Sema", equipped with modern technology. Turkey invested about USD 20 million in the construction of the clinic.
