Establishment of Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries to be historic step - President Gül
ISTANBUL. September 16. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries is to be a historic step.
President of Turkey Abdullah Gül has announced it opening the plenary session of the 10th Summit of Turkic speaking states.
"Establishing the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries, we are making a historic step", he said.
The Turkish President noted that Turkey pays much attention to the Nakhichevan Agreement on creation of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries. "Solidarity of Turkic-speaking people is very important for our region. Our goal is to unite our nations, create new opportunities for cooperation as well as bring peace, stability, prosperity to our region", he said.
The Summit is carried out in the Çırağan Palace. Presidents of Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan take part in it.
