ASTANA. May 19. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Equal access to all cultural products must be ensured for all citizens of the country - living in cities and rural regions. Russian Culture Minister Alexander Avdeyev said it at the 8th session of the SCO culture ministers.
'For instance, we have about 30 percent of people who do not have an opportunity to go to museums, theaters, cinemas, etc,' he noted. According to him, it happens because many people live far from big cities. Therefore, access to the cultural products must be ensured by means of internet and television.
'In other words, television will become a 'window to the culture' but it has to be of the highest standard. We have to prepare the best sites and programs that would feature full excursion through our museums and the best performances of our theaters. We have to work on development of this sphere,' the Minister emphasized.
