EPP delegation visits Karaganda region
KARAGANDA. February 23. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ Representatives of the European People's Party (EPP) have arrived with a reconnaissance visit to Karaganda region. Akim (governor) Serik Akhmetov received the guests in the regional akimat (administration).
"The EPP delegation came to Kazakhstan at the invitation of the Nur Otan People's Democratic Party. Our visit is aimed at development of interparty partnership relations," the European representative said.
The governor told the guests about the socio-economic development and the party's activity. "Your visit demonstrates striving of the European community for building a dialogue and cooperation with our country," S.Akhmetov outlined.
According to the European representatives, the EPP is one of the largest parties not only in the European Parliament, but in the European Union. "Kazakhstan reached impressive success over a short term. I got familiarized with the country's Development Strategy and admire its plans. It is a very ambitious document with high tasks. We see how much Kazakhstan made over the last 20 years. I am confident that the program for the next 20 years will be implemented," he said.
