Environment Ministry to tighten control over implementation of environmental measures
ANA. January 20. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Kazakh Ministry of Environment will hold tight control over the implementation of the environmental measures by users of natural resources up to the recall of permissions for environmental emissions; Head of the Kazakh Ministry of Environmental Protection Nurgali Ashimov has said it today at the extended session of the collegium of the Ministry.
According to him, significant increase in financing of environmental activities was reached in 2009 at the expense of funds of enterprises from KZT 123 bln in 2008 to KZT 139 bln in 2009. The number covers only 43 large users of natural resources accounting for 80% of all emissions of the country.
Herein, some companies do not fulfill the plan of environmental measures. For example, "KazakhOilAktobe" LLP has strongly reduced investing in environmental measures from KZT 5 bln to KZT 1.7 bln whereas "AktobeMunaiGaz" JSC reduced investing - from KZT 12.2 bln to KZT 5.3 bln.
The Minister reminded that last year the permissions were recalled from "Troitskaya GRES" JSC and Atyrau Oil Refinery. Besides, there will be a tight control over observation of the Environmental Code.
