Environment Ministry and industrialists debated Kazakhstan's participation in the Kyoto Protocol
ASTANA. March 11. KAZINFORM Today in Astana Kazakh Environment Ministry and industrialists debated Kazakhstan's participation in the Kyoto Protocol and greenhouse gas abatement, the Ministry's press service said.
Minister Nurlan Kapparov, reps of oil and gas, energy and mining industries, international and nongovernmental organizations, deputies of the Kazakh Parliament attended the meeting.
Those gathered discussed beneficial and negative impacts of the revision of the earlier assumed obligations to reduce greenhouse emissions, also issues concerning prevention of environmental pollution in the production, introduction and maintenance of environmentally safe technical processes and facilities.
Following the results of the meeting it was decided to set up a working group to draw up a general pollution prevention concept.
