Enlarged session of the Council of CIS Premiers started in St Petersburg
SAINT PTERSBURG. October 18. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member countries has just started its work in expanded format in St Petersburg. Prime Minister Karim Massimov heads the Kazakh delegation, our correspondent reports.
Those attending are expected to debate a wide range of issues, review progress in the preparation of the treaty on free trade zone, the Plan of Action to implement the second phase of the CIS economic development strategy for the period up to 2020, draft interstate program for innovative cooperation in the CIS until 2020. The agenda also includes the CIS concept of strategic development of railway transport till 2020, the concept of coherent social and demographic policies of the CIS member states, etc.
Heads of Governments Karim Massimov of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Putin of Russia, Tigran Sarkisyan of Armenia, Mikhail Myasnikovich of Belarus, Vladimir Filat of Moldova, Akil Akilov of Tajikistan, Nikolai Azarov of Ukraine, 1st Vice Premier of Azerbaijan Yaqub Eyyubov, 1st Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nazarguly Shagulyev, 1st Vice Premier of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov, acting PM of Kyrgyzstan Omurbek Babanov and chairman of the Executive Committee-CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev are taking part in the extended meeting of the Council of the CIS Prime Ministers.
