The experts are expected to attend a workshop on advanced technologies of renewable energy, according to a report of the Jakarta globe. "The whole idea of the workshop is to talk about renewable energy that is using water, wind and the sun as its sources," Bambang Prihandoko, secretary of the Advanced Material for New andRenewable Technology (AMNRE), was quoted by the report as saying. "It also has a significant link to tackling the issues of climate change and global warming. We are hoping that we can get much more information about sharing energy through the workshop, so that at least we can also be a part of the system." The Research Center for Physics at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) is organizing the workshop in cooperation with theAsean Subcommittee on Material Science and Technology and the Subcommittee on Non-Conventional Energy Research. The workshop, scheduled from June 9 to 11 in Ancol, North Jakarta, is also expected to build networks among scientists working on renewable energy technologies, said Masbah Siregar, the committee chairman for the AMNRE workshop. Representatives from France, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea, Iraq and other countries are expected to participate in the workshop, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn fior full version.
