Emergency situations joint monitoring and forecasting - one of the key lines of Kazakh-Russian cooperation

ASTRAKHAN. September 15. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ "One of the key lines for Kazakh-Russian cooperation is implementation of a system of joint monitoring and forecasting of emergency situations," President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said addressing the VIII interregional cooperation forum in Astrakhan.

As the President stated, the frequency and devastating impact of natural and man-made disasters the worldwide lead to appreciable economic, social and demographic damage. "We have good practice and experience in this sphere. Russian and Kazakh rescue services have collective plans for cooperation in case of trans-border emergencies. It is essential to develop our cooperation in prevention and liquidation of emergency situations. It is an important factor for maintaining safety and stability in the region. One of the key lines of collaboration is the implementation of a system of joint monitoring and forecasting of emergency situations."

"Our rescue services should be ready for all emergencies - forest and steppe fires, flood hazards on trans-border rives, and emergencies in the Caspian Sea basin," President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.
