Embassy in Turkey holds events dedicated to 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence
ASTANA. January 18. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Embassy in Turkey has started events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan; the Kazakh diplomatic mission informs.
In Ankara the Embassy and the Writers' Union of Turkey conducted a conference on achievements of Kazakhstan over the years of independence and bilateral relations of Kazakhstan and Turkey. This event was organized as part of a cycle of conferences of the Writers' Union of Turkey. Turkish deputies, representatives of the state bodies, public and scientific circles, international organizations as well as mass media participated in the conference.
Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Writers' Union Mehmet Dogan gave a high estimate to the current status of bilateral cooperation of Kazakhstan and Turkey, noting the great role of Kazakhstan in the Turkic world. He informed of close cooperation of the Writer's Union of the two countries, expressed satisfaction with Kazakhstan's achievements over the years of independence and growing interest of the Turkic public in fraternal Kazakhstan.
Kazakh Ambassador Z.Tuimebayev noted important significance of the conference, which is held in the year of the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence, told about Kazakh achievements over these years. He noted that our country is an initiator of such integration processes like the CICA, Turkic Council which comprises the Turkic Academy and Council of Elders of Turkic-speaking countries. The Ambassador proposed to activate cooperation in the field of literature and art.
Besides, the gathered were informed of the results of the Kazakh presidency in the OSCE and the Summit of the Organization successfully held in Astana. Z.Tuimebayev noted that in 2011 Kazakhstan will chair in the OIC.
