There is no progress without stability in the country – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

According to the Kazakh leader, only the nation that looks forward to the future with confidence, thus overcoming all difficulties and hardships, can make progress.

Kazakhstan will never deviate from the intended path, which our countries proved during the disaster it faced this year. The recent unprecedented floods were a great challenge for our country, leaving entire settlements under water. The state of emergency was declared in 10 regions, as thousands of people lost their homes and property all of sudden. As you know, I delivered a special address to the people during this critical moment, where I assured that not a single person will be left without attention. The state delivered on its promises. Around 2,700 houses were built in no time. Up to 9,000 families received compensation for lost housing, around 6,000 houses were bought. A thousand of families cerebrated their new homes since the summer. Most of the damaged infrastructure was restored over this short period, said Tokayev.

According to the Head of State, all the work done was the outcome of the joint efforts. Tokayev thanked all those involved in the elimination of the aftermath of the floods, primarily rescuers, volunteers, business people and caring citizens.

Indeed, all our achievements became possible thanks to our strong unity and solidarity, which are the basis of a strong nation and influential state. The current events in the world show that there is no progress without stability in the country, as is evident in many countries, where contention and conflicts led to stagnation and degradation… The in-depth comprehensive reforms our country carried out thanks to our nation’s unity and stability are the key to the development and prosperity and are already producing results, stated the President.

As the President highlighted, the direct mission of the government and regional administrations is to provide comprehensive support for the business community, to be open to entrepreneurs and interact with them in a constructive manner.

Tokayev also spoke about the priority areas of social policy of the country.

This year, under the National Project ‘Modernization of Rural Healthcare,’ 115 new medical facilities have been built. As a result of the systemic measures taken, there are improvements in the key demographic and health indicators. The average life expectancy surpassed 75 years for the first time over the years of independence. Also, the Comfortable School national project, which will provide around 500,000 people with school places, is underway, said Tokayev.
