EgyptSat-2 to be launched from Baikonur spaceport

BAIKONUR. KAZINFORM - The new Egyptian Satellite EgyptSat-2 is scheduled to be launched Wednesday by the Russian Space Agency from Baikonur cosmodrome.
The satellite is to be launched on a Soyuz-U booster from Baikonur cosmodrome. EgyptSat 2 is Egypt's second Earth remote-sounding satellite. The satellite is jointly built by Egypt's National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences together with RKK Energiya in Russia. Energia RKK used a thoroughly tested universal unpressurized space platform, which had been previously used for Yamal-100 series spacecraft.
