EEU Treaty submitted to Belarus' parliament
MINSK. KAZINFORM - The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) Treaty has been submitted to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Chairman of the permanent commission on international affairs Nikolai Samoseiko told media on 30 September, BelTA has learned.
"The draft law to ratify the treaty has been submitted to the House of Representatives by the Council of Ministers following the instructions of the President of Belarus," Nikolai Samoseiko said. In his words, the forthcoming autumn session that is to open on 2 October will consider a wide range of international issues. One of the main issues for consideration is the ratification of the EEU Treaty.
When asked on the possible date of ratification, the MP noted that it has not been specified yet. All parliamentarians should get familiar with the content of the document. "As for synchronized approval (by the Customs Troika member states - BelTA's note), I think that two to three weeks is not a big gap," Nikolai Samoseiko said.
The document consists of four main parts. One of them pertains directly to the development of the Eurasian Economic Union, the second - to the Customs Union, the third - to the Single Economic Space, with the fourth one focused on transitional provisions, BelTA reports.
