EEC to amend regulation on uniform rules for veterinary control in Customs Union

MOSCOW. January 14. KAZINFORM The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) intends to amend the regulation on the uniform rules for veterinary control on the customs border of the Customs Union and in the customs territory of the Customs Union. The draft has been submitted for public discussion and published on the EEC website on 13 January, BelTA has learned.

The draft is expected to clarify the term "competent authority", the requirements to registration certificates, the terms of issuance of replacement certificates. The document also imposes a new requirement to the circulation of goods (products) imported based on the veterinary certificates which differ from the veterinary certificates approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission, BelTA reports.

In particular, the competent authority of the exporting country shall be a public authority of the exporting country consisting of veterinarians and other specialists responsible and skilled in the supervision and (or) protection of animal health, and international veterinary certification.
