Edible oil refinery opens in Kazakhstan
A solemn opening of the vegetable edible oil refinery opened in Semey city, Kazakhstan, designed to process 180,000 tons of sunflower seeds annually to produce 50-60,000 tons of oil, Kazinform News Agency cites the city akimat.
Mayor Nurbol Nursagatov took part in the opening ceremony and congratulated the Agro Oil Group company on the launch of the refinery of great significance for the city.
The refinery is expected to boost the region’s manufacturing sector, increase its export potential and create new workplaces. 50 locals obtained jobs at the plant as of now.
The new refinery is called to meet local demand and supply raw materials and end products throughout Kazakhstan.
The mayor said such enterprises show the growing investment attractiveness of Semey and raise its industrial potential.
Earlier the Abai Scientific and Cultural Center opened in Semey at the Abai Zhidebay-Borili state historical and cultural, literary and memorial museum reserve.
