Economic growth in Kazakhstan made 3.9% in Jan

Deputy Prime Minister -Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Baibazarov reported on the country’s economic growth in January, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Economic growth in Kazakhstan made 3.9% in January, including growth in the real sector of 3.8% and 3.5% in the service industry. The most growth is seen in construction, transport and warehousing, information and communications, and processing industries. Capital investment growth made 0.6%. The inflow of investments into education rose by 3.6 times, investments in the financial and insurance sector increased by threefold, 2.1 times in transport and warehousing, twofold in the construction sector, and by 20.9% in information and communications, he told the Government meeting.

Zhetysu, Ulytau, Zhambyl and Almaty regions demonstrated the best growth indicators.

External trade turnover increased by 3.2% to make 140 billion US dollars in 2023. Exports amounted to 79 billion US dollars, while exports of processed goods amounted to more than 25 billion US dollars. Imports exceeded 61 billion US dollars. The favourable balance of trade made some 18 billion US dollars.
