EC project on support of HIV infected people will be ended by seminars in Almaty
ALMATY. September 11. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ The project of the European Council on strengthening potential of organizations working under the HIV/AIDS prevention program and social integration of people living with HIV in Kazakhstan is coming to an end in Almaty.
The project was initiated in 2007 under the financial aid of the European Council in cooperation with Holland non-governmental organization AFEW and a number of local partner organizations.
The project is aimed at rendering of psychological and consultative aid to people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS for social adaptation, employment and extended access to medical and public service. A number of service bureaus rendering free consultations and psychological support to people living with HIV have been opened in four cities of Kazakhstan during the activity of the project.
In addition over 80 representatives of AIDS-service NGOs from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan take part in autumn school in Almaty on September, 7-14, on strengthening of potential of organizations working in HIV and tuberculosis prevention. 13 training and 4 working seminars on bookkeeping, strategic planning, social communications and etc. will be held during the week.
The event is held under the aegis of the EC representative office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and CAAP. The school will be held till September, 14.
