EBRD and Dushanbe join forces to modernize transport infrastructure

Deputy mayor of Dushanbe Rahmiddin Salomzoda held talks with a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to explore expanded cooperation on the Tajik capital’s transport infrastructure, Khovar reports.

The meeting centered on plans to modernize Dushanbe’s transport system and strengthen collaboration between the city administration and the EBRD. Discussions covered the implementation of road and transport projects, the adoption of advanced digital technologies for traffic modeling and management, and measures to reduce congestion across the city.

The sides also exchanged views on applying international best practices to improve the efficiency and sustainability of urban transport services.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing joint initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and easing traffic conditions in Dushanbe, underscoring the importance of continued partnership between the city and the EBRD.

Earlier, it was reported that the EBRD had named Tajikistan as one of Central Asia’s fastest-growing economies.
