Earthquake felt in East Kazakhstan region

The Seismic Stations Network of the Ministry of Emergencies has recorded an earthquake on February 15, 2025 at 06:52 am Astana time, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The epicenter of the quake was in the territory of the Russian Federation, 1225 kilometers northeast of Almaty.

The estimated intensity (in points) in the territory of the East Kazakhstan region was as follows: Katon-Karagai village - 3.0, Markakol village - 3.0, Ulken-Naryn village 3.0, Altay town (Zyryanovsk) - 3.0, Buran village - 3.0, Ridder town (Leninogorsk) - 2.0, Zaysan town - 3.0, Kurshim (Kurchum) - 3.0, and Samarskoye village - 3.0.

No injuries or damages were reported.

In late January, 5.6M earthquake struck Russia’s Lake Baikal.
