E-government Global Forum gathered experts from 70 countries
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Global Forum of e-government has gathered government officials, experts and academics in the field of information and communication technologies from more than 70 countries.
It is expected that the forum will be opened by the Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov. UN Under-Secretary-General Wu Hongbo, deputy Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union Houlin Zhao, first Vice-minister of Public Administration and Security of South Korea Park Kyung-kook, as well as Kazakhstan's Minister for Investment and Development Asset Issekeshev. This year's forum is themed "Smart management for sustainable development: new partnership opportunities in the network society". The event includes the following sessions: "Trends and emerging issues of smart government", "Provision of multi-channel access to public services", "Involving people in public administration", "Reducing the digital divide", "Open data and open government" and so on. In addition, today there will be held a ceremony awarding the UN countries which have demonstrated significant achievements in e-government development. It is worth noting that this year Kazakhstan was ranked 28th in UN "e-government" rating and 38th in the WEF's Network Readiness Index. Through systematic steps in the development of ICT and e-government Kazakhstan has achieved significant results in the global rankings of the United Nations and the World Economic Forum. Today the "electronic government" of Kazakhstan provides more than 570 types of services. Since 2012 all licenses have been issued in electronic format, and by the end of this year it is planned to have issuance of all permits in electronic format. The forum was organized by the United Nations and the Ministry of Investment and Development. "National ICT Holding" Zerde" JSC is a co-organizer of the event.
