Draft new Tax Code should be submitted to Majilis by February 20, Kazakh PM
Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov tasked to submit amendments to the draft new Tax Code of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister-National Economy Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin revealed the plans to increase the VAT rate from 12% to 16% differentiating by sectors.
The Prime Minister approved the proposed approaches.
He stressed the need to hold meetings in the regions this week to debate the VAT rates rise. The Prime Minister is expected to hold talks with business communities in Astana and regions.
Following the meeting, he tasked to submit amendments to the draft Tax Code and the draft law to the Majilis by February 20.
Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev slammed the government’s proposal to raise the VAT rate to 20%.
