Doctor from Shymkent arrested for killing Red book gazelle

Internal Affairs Department officers have arrested a poacher with a Red book gazelle's carcass. The officers stopped VAZ-21213 on the road Shardara-Arys. A 33-year-old resident of Shymkent drove the car. It turned out that the man worked as a doctor in one of the city hospitals. IAD officers found a carcass of a gazelle "karakuyryk" which is considered as rare, endangered species in Kazakhstan and is listed in the Red Book, said the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs. In addition, the officers have found a hunting rifle and 12 caliber cartridges in the vehicle. The suspect is under house arrest. Criminal case has been opened. The doctor faces a fine in the amount of 200-500 MCI (MCI=1852 tenge) or restriction of liberty for up to 1 year with confiscation of property.
