A group of citizens tried to hold the unauthorized action near the Mayakovskaya metro station at 5:00 p.m. local time, a city police source told Itar-Tass. ?They came to Triumfalnaya Square carrying flags and symbols of Other Russia, but the police stopped the action,? the source said. Meanwhile, about 500 took part in a rally in support of anti-crisis measures of the Russian government in downtown Moscow on Sunday, city police deputy chief Vyacheslav Kozlov told Itar-Tass. The action was calm, he said. Also, an anti-abortion rally was held on Teatralnaya Square. Nearly 70 people took part in that rally, which also was uneventful, Kozlov said. Moscow police were alerted prior to Sunday actions in the city center. About 2,000 policemen were on guard, together with 600 OMON servicemen, Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
