Passengers had already boarded the ship and spent one night onboard before being informed that the May 7-11, 2026 sailing would no longer take place. The 6,000-passenger vessel was set to depart from the Marina Cruise Centre as part of Disney’s short “cruises to nowhere” program.

In a statement issued to guests, Disney Cruise Line apologized for the disruption and acknowledged the disappointment caused by the unexpected cancellation.

“We are truly sorry to let you know that we are unable to proceed with your Disney Adventure experience from May 7-11, 2026, as planned,” the company said.

Disney did not disclose the exact nature of the technical problem but stressed that passenger safety and comfort remain its highest priorities.

According to the company, affected travelers will receive full refunds for cruise fares and any unused onboard services, including internet access and beverage packages.

To compensate passengers, Disney is also offering a 50% discount on a future Disney Cruise Line voyage. Guests were additionally provided with a complimentary one-night stay at the JW Marriott Singapore South Beach.

The cruise operator said it would also reimburse certain flight change fees and cover up to $500 per stateroom for additional incidental expenses related to the disruption.

Before leaving the vessel, passengers were granted complimentary Wi-Fi access to help arrange alternative travel plans. Transportation from the cruise terminal to the designated hotel was also organized by the company.

Disney thanked guests for their patience and cooperation while again apologizing for the incident.

The Disney Adventure officially entered service in March 2026 as Disney Cruise Line’s first ship based in Asia. Delivered in late 2025, the 208,000-ton vessel is currently the largest ship in the company’s fleet.

The ship was originally ordered for Dream Cruises and built at the MV Werften shipyard before later joining Disney Cruise Line.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that more than 100 people fell ill during a norovirus outbreak aboard the Caribbean Princess cruise ship.
