Direct flight between Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka to boost trade-economic cooperation - diplomat
ASTANA. February 16. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador Dulat Kuanyshev presented credentials to President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo on February 14; Kazakh MFA's press service told Kazinform.
During the talks the parties noted the importance of interethnic and inter-religious accord. D. Kuanyshev emphasized that promotion of tolerance was one of the key elements of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's policy.
The diplomat told President Rajapaksa about the foreign policy initiatives of Astana. The issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats were discussed.
The same day D. Kuanyshev met with Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa. They exchanged opinions regarding political and socio-economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka.
The Kazakh Ambassador noted that opening of a direct flight between Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka would contribute to trade-economic interaction between the two states.
