Diplomatic corps in Belgium express condolences over tragedy in Kazakhstan

BRUSSELS. June 5. KAZINFORM Today, on the day of national mourning over the death of 14 border guards at Kazakhstan's border outpost "Arkankergen" representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Belgium expressed their condolences to Kazakhstan.

In connection with the declared national mourning the Kazakh Embassy in Belgium held a minute of silence in memory of those killed at the border post. The national flag of Kazakhstan is flown at half-staff. Those who came to express their condolences wrote ​​in a special open book of condolences.

According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belgium and Luxembourg, Head of Kazakhstan's Mission to the EU and NATO Erik Utembayev, "today the embassy opened a book of condolences. The representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the EU and NATO in Belgium and Luxembourg have expressed their deep condolences. On this day all show solidarity with the people of Kazakhstan."

"I want to express my deep condolences in connection with recent events. This is a tragic event for all the families and relatives. For us Kazakhstan is a brotherly country. I think that soon all the circumstances of this barbaric crime will be revealed," Ambassador of Tajikistan to Belgium Rustamjon Soliev said.

"On behalf of the Embassy of Ukraine we extend our condolences to the people of Kazakhstan and grieve with you in connection with the tragic events that occurred at the border. Please accept our condolences," Minister-counsellor of the Ukrainian Embassy to Belgium Yan Omelchenko said.
