Development of relations between Kazakhstan and EU discussed in Strasbourg
BRUSSELS. May 11. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Issues of development of relations between Kazakhstan and the European Council were discussed at the meeting of the Kazakh Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, European Council and NATO Yerik Utembayev with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland held in Strasbourg.
The Secretary General complimented the development of the dialogue between Kazakhstan and the Council of Europe and Kazakhstan's joining the European Cultural Convention in March this year that allowed to accelerate the integration process of the country to the Bologna Educational Process.
"Kazakhstan is active in all dimensions of work with the Council of Europe. We appreciate it. You become closer to the Council of Europe by joining its conventions", the Head of the European council said.
Y.Utembayev told the Secretary General that joining a range of significant European conventions on criminal-law aspects which will allow to cooperate in establishment of single European legal space is one of the topical directions for Kazakhstan as well.
