Deputy Foreign Ministers of five Central Asian states met in Ashgabat

A conference of Deputy Foreign Ministers of five Central Asian states took placed in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on May 31. Representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed the fight against trans-border crime, extremism and drug trafficking, the situation in Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, and management of natural resources and the environment.

The conference, organised by the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, was the third annual gathering of its kind, the press service of the Kazakh MFA reports.
