Deputy Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries to meet in Almaty on Feb 17
ASTANA. February 12. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ "Deputy Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries will discuss the issues of combating of cross-border threats in Almaty on February 17", official representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Askar Abdrakhmanov has said today at the briefing.
"Second annual meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries will be held in Almaty on February 17. Issues of water, energy and ecological security, combating trans-border threats, problems of nuclear safety and the situation in Afghanistan are planned to be discussed", he said.
The official representative noted that the meeting was organized by the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia. UN Secretary-General's Special Representative Miroslav Jenča is expected to take part in the meeting.
